Captain Mealer began his career in Law Enforcement as a dispatcher for the Idaho County Sheriffs Office in 1999 before transferring to patrol in 2000. He spent multiple years in Iraq and Afghanistan, training and mentoring their police in democratic policing principles, procedures and tactics. Captain Mealer has been a dive team member, SWAT Team Member, SWAT Team Leader, SWAT Team Commander, a Field Training Officer, and Bike Team Member. He currently is the Patrol Captain of the Post Falls Police Department, and is married with five children.
