Swing and Graveyard Shift 02/19-02/20

17PF04611 (Eluding, DUI)
A truck was called in as a wrong way driver in the area Polston and Goude after it was spotted driving East bound in the West bound lanes. The caller followed the truck for a while and watched it strike various fixed objects and run over the curb. The truck eventually sped away from the caller who lost sight of it. A short time later an officer spotted the truck and also noticed the poor driving pattern. The officer attempted to stop the truck which resulted in a vehicle pursuit. The suspect truck drove off the roadway and sped through parking lots trying to evade the officer. The truck drove recklessly into a neighborhood, crashing through a fence. The pursuing officer was concerned that the truck would likely hit another motorist or crash into a house and used his patrol car to disable the truck as it tried to flee. The truck spun out into another yard where it then became stuck. Despite being stuck, the driver continued to press the gas pedal trying to get free. The officer deployed K9 Andor and began to order for the suspect to surrender. More officers arrived on scene and were able to break the window out of the truck to unlock the door. Officers approached with the K9 which resulted in the driver compiling with orders. He was taken into custody and booked for a several charges. He also provided a breath sample nearly triple the legal limit.
