Chief R. Scot Haug serves as the Police Chief. With more than two decades of law enforcement experience, he oversees a department that employs 65 sworn officers and civilian personnel, as well as 20 volunteers.

Chief Haug began his professional career in law enforcement with the Post Falls Police Department in 1986, as a reserve police officer. Since that time he has served in many different capacities within the Department. In 2009 he was appointed Chief of Police. With his appointment he brings a well-established commitment to community policing. He strives to establish strong community relationships throughout the city with the goal of strengthening the relationship between the people of Post Falls and their Police Department. Chief Haug leads with a strong sense of community involvement through his own personal time and resources.

Chief Haug is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 2001 Session. He holds a Degree of Associate of Applied Science with a major in Law Enforcement from North Idaho College, as well as, as degree in Administration of Justice.
