FREE Bicycle licenses are issued by the police department during normal business hours Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You must bring the bike you want to license with you. After a short application is completed and the bike’s serial number verified, a decal is affixed to the bicycle.
For convenience, you can also register your bicycle online. Complete the information below, upload requested images, and send directly to the Post Falls Police Department. We’ll process your registration and mail a license sticker to affix in a conspicuous location on the bicycle.
According to the Post Falls City Code - under Title 10, Chapter 10.36, Article 1 - it is unlawful for any person to operate or use a bicycle upon any of the public thoroughfares or highways within the city without first registering their bike with the police department at no charge.
In addition, bicycle registering helps the police department better assist our citizens in the recovery of their bike in the event it's ever lost or stolen. Every year, we have numerous unclaimed bikes due to failure to license, which are eventually sold to auction after 90 days. As an agency, our goal is to ensure we can return all bikes to their rightful owner.
