Post Falls Police Attends Animal Care Expo with ASPCA Grant Award

Post Falls, ID - The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) awarded Post Falls Police Animal Safety a $1,500.00 grant in March 2016 for the department’s animal shelter manager, Sheri Benner, to attend this year’s Animal Care Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.AnimalCareExpo

The Animal Care Expo is a four-day event organized by The Humane Society of the United States as a world-class educational conference and full-scale trade show for anyone who works or volunteers in the animal protection fields.

By attending the expo, Sheri garnered updated information and resources for transitioning shelter animals into permanent, loving homes. In 2015, Animal Safety facilitated the adoption of 189 impounded dogs to private homes and rescue organizations.

The ASPCA was the first humane society established in North America and currently is one of the largest in the world. ASPCA was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law.
