The Post Falls Police Department is teaming up with the Office of Highway Safety in an Impaired Driving Enforcement emphasis. The goal of this emphasis is to support the statewide highway safety goal of reducing motor vehicle related deaths and serious injuries as a result of impaired drivers by increasing law enforcement presence and increasing arrests of those impaired.
In 2008, there were 12,172 DUI arrests in Idaho, resulting in 96 fatalities. 40% of all Idaho fatalities were the result of an impaired driving crash and 85 % of those killed were not restrained.
The dates of this emphasis will be March 12th – 22nd, 2010. Please assist us with keeping our roadways safe. Do your part and don't drink and drive.
