Nancy Ray, Sr. Emergency Communication Officer
Nancy Ray moved to the Post Falls area in May 2000. She began her career as an Emergency Communications Officer for the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department. After spending nearly six years with the Sheriff’s Department, she applied for a position at the Post Falls Police Department where she just celebrated her 5 year anniversary on July 25, 2011.

Earlier this year Nancy was featured with the City of Post Falls “Coffee with the Mayor” where she discussed the proper use of 911.  Nancy is passionate about instructing the young citizens of Post Falls on the importance of using 911 and how not to abuse the system.

One of Nancy’s goals is to educate the public on the use of the 911 System. Over the last year, Nancy has met with kids from the Boys and Girls Club and the Cornerstone Christian Academy. In the future, Nancy would like to meet with Post Falls Senior Center, Junior High Students, and High School Students.

Nancy has been recognized by her peers and supervisors for the work that she does. Recently a co-worker stated; “You have always impressed me with how simple you make your job look and I believe that it takes a special person to do that.”  Another comment made by a volunteer with the Department stated, “It was very impressive to watch Nancy jump into action, she was not only communicating with the officers but with other agencies dispatchers and her co-worker all while staying calm”.

Communications Director, Charlene Holbrook stated “Nancy is a great asset to our team and I appreciate her drive and dedication.  She really loves what she does and it shows."
