The Communications Division is the 911 center of the Police Department and is supervised by the Communicaitons Director. This division consists of two shift supervisors, eleven communications officers and two records clerks. This division is responsible for all 911 and business calls that the Post Falls and Rathdrum Police Department receives.
Emergency Communications Officer’s (ECO’s) are a vital link between citizens and resources. The duties of a Communications Officer are broad. In addition to performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, Communications Officers perform both call taking and dispatching duties. This division operates 24 hours per day seven days a week and is available for citizens to visit during these hours. Citizens can visit the Communications Division to license dogs and cats, register bicycles, and also place their home on the "property watch" while they are away.
The Property Watch is a complementary service offered by the Post Falls Police Department. While you are away officers will provide extra patrol by your residence while you're away. Any problems located while you're away, will be reported to the responsible party you designate.
