The function of Animal Safety Section is the enforcement of City Ordinance relating to animals; care and feeding of lost or abandon animals along with the capture of those animals. The section is also responsible for the adoption of strays and those animals relinquished to the section by the owners.
Animal Safety hours vary based on calls for service but typically are:
Sunday - Saturday
6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
The Post Falls Animal Shelter is open for adoptions Monday - Friday
and by appointment only on the weekend.

Licensing
Dogs in the city of Post Falls Must be licensed. To License your friend bring your proof of Rabies vaccination to the Post Falls Police Department at:
1717 E.Polston Ave.
We are open 24 hours a day to assist you in licensing your pet.
OR
You may License your dog at the shelter during the time that the Post Falls Animal Shelter Manager is there. Licenses are $24.00 per year for dogs that are not spayed or neutered or $12.00 a year for spayed or neutered dogs. We accept check or cash only, no debit or credit cards are accepted.
