The function of Animal Safety is the enforcement of City Ordinance relating to animals; care and feeding of lost or abandon animals along with the capture of those animals. The section is also responsible for the adoption of strays.
Animal Safety hours vary based on calls for service but typically are:

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
The Post Falls Animal Shelter is open for adoptions Monday - Friday

We are open 24 hours a day to assist you in licensing your pet.
OR
You may license your dog at the shelter when the Shelter Manager is available. Licenses are $24.00 per year for dogs that are not spayed or neutered or $12.00 a year for spayed or neutered dogs. We accept check or cash only, no debit or credit cards are accepted.
Your vet can provide written proof of vaccination and altering. Your documentation should include dates of expiration for rabies.

If you recognize your pet on this website, or you are an area rescue group that can help an animal on this site, please call as soon as possible to claim him/her.
