Chief R. Scot Haug

Chief R. Scot Haug serves as the Police Chief. With more than two decades of law enforcement experience, he oversees a department that employs 65 sworn officers and civilian personnel, as well as 20 volunteers.

Chief Haug began his professional career in law enforcement with the Post Falls Police Department in 1986, as a reserve police officer. Since that time he has served in many different capacities within the Department. In 2009 he was appointed Chief of Police. With his appointment he brings a well-established commitment to community policing. He strives to establish strong community relationships throughout the city with the goal of strengthening the relationship between the people of Post Falls and their Police Department. Chief Haug leads with a strong sense of community involvement through his own personal time and resources.

Tammy Holmes Management Assistant

Tammy Holmes began working for the City of Post Falls in April of 2006 as an Administrative Specialist in the Community Development Department.   In December 2007, she became the Management Assistant here at the Police Department.    Her background includes skills in Accounting, Administrative Assistant, Human Resource, Customer Service, and Process Management.   She achieved the status of Six Sigma Black Belt with Johnson Machinery, a Caterpillar Dealership, which she was previously employed for 8 years.

Lt. Greg Mclean Investigations Lieutenant

Lieutenant Mclean started working for the Post Falls Police Department as a full time Animal Control officer in 1989.  After one year he was hired on as a full-time police officer and has held many positions throughout the 20 years of his service. Some of the positions include being one of our first Motor Officers, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant. 

Lieutenant McLean currently oversees the investigation division which includes our crisis intervention team, DARE, Community Services and the School Resource Officers.  Lieutenant McLean holds an AAS degree in criminal justice from North Idaho College and is devoted to seeing that the public gets the best possible service available.

Charlene Holbrook Communications Manager

Communications Manager Charlene Holbrook was hired as an Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) and began her career with the Post Falls Police Department on April 2, 2000.  In the summer of 2002, she was promoted to Communications Shift Supervisor/Communications Training Officer (CTO).  In June of 2007 she became the Management Assistant to the Chief of Police. 


Communications Manager Holbrook was promoted to her current position in 2008 and oversees the Communications Division of the Department.  The Communications Division consists of two Shift Supervisors, twelve Emergency Communications Officers and two Records Specialists.  The Communications Division is the 911 center of the Police Department and is responsible for all 911 calls and radio dispatching for the Post Falls and Rathdrum Police Departments.  Emergency Communications Officer’s are a vital link between citizens and resources and serve as the Departments and Cities ambassador. Their performance directly contributes to the safety and well-being of Officers, citizens and visitors of our community.
Charlene has received Level I, II, and III Certificates from Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and has an Associate Degree in Fire Science.

Communications Manager Holbrook was voted Employee of the Year by her peers in 2003 and 2006.

Lt. Pat Knight Patrol Lieutenant

Lieuteant Knight began his career with the Post Falls Police Department in 1994. After spending time in the United States Marine Corps, he decided to come home and fulfill a lifetime dream of becoming a police officer. Since this time he has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, SWAT operator, Team Leader and SWAT Team Commander. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007 and currently oversee the Patrol Division. One of the highlights of his career was being selected as one of the first motor cycle officers for the Department in 1996.
