SUBJECT: Suspect Arrest in Drive By Shooting Case

Post Falls Police Detectives charged an adult male in conjunction with a recent shooting into a residence.  These charges are a result of the October 26, 2006 shooting where the suspect fired a weapon into an occupied residence at 1905 E Meadow Lane , in Post Falls .

Information received in connection with an unrelated arrest, helped investigators identify 18-year-old Robert Deal Mann of Post Falls, as the suspect responsible for shooting into the home on October 26, 2006.  At the time of his arrest Mr. Mann was incarcerated at the Kootenai County jail.  He was contacted during a traffic stop on October 28th; during that stop it was discovered that he had three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.  

Post Falls Police Detectives booked Mr. Mann for one count of felony “Unlawful discharge of a firearm at a dwelling” (I.C. 18-3317).  Mr. Mann refused to comment to investigators as to the reason he shot into the residence.

The Post Falls Police Department would like to thank the citizens who phoned in tips related to this crime.  This is the second drive-by shooting that the Post Falls Police Department has investigated during the month of October and both cases were solved as a result of a citizen tip.
