Stabbing

On
November 28, 2006 at approximately 10:00 pm the Post Falls Police
Department received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on
Ping Road
in
Post
Falls
. The 19-year-old victim
reported that he was walking home when a vehicle approached him and the
suspect exited. The victim
stated that the suspect ran at him knocking him to the ground and than
fled back to the vehicle and left the area.
The victim realized he had been stabbed in the stomach area and
returned to his friends house and was taken to
Kootenai
Medical
Center
. Investigators were called to
the scene and the victim relayed to detectives that the suspect was
19-year-old Robert Wayne Laverdure of
Post
Falls
. Laverdure was located a few
hours later at an
Emma street
address in Cda and was arrested and booked into the
Kootenai
County
jail on aggravated battery charges.
The
victim believes Laverdure attacked him because of a Police report he had
filed on November 20th accusing Laverdure of stealing a check card.
The victim stated that he received a threat earlier in the evening
stating he “better watch his back”.
