Date: November 28, 2006

On November 28, 2006 at approximately 10:00 pm the Post Falls Police Department received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on Ping Road in Post Falls .  The 19-year-old victim reported that he was walking home when a vehicle approached him and the suspect exited.  The victim stated that the suspect ran at him knocking him to the ground and than fled back to the vehicle and left the area.  The victim realized he had been stabbed in the stomach area and returned to his friends house and was taken to Kootenai Medical Center .  Investigators were called to the scene and the victim relayed to detectives that the suspect was 19-year-old Robert Wayne Laverdure of Post Falls .  Laverdure was located a few hours later at an Emma street address in Cda and was arrested and booked into the Kootenai County jail on aggravated battery charges.

The victim believes Laverdure attacked him because of a Police report he had filed on November 20th accusing Laverdure of stealing a check card.  The victim stated that he received a threat earlier in the evening stating he “better watch his back”.
