SUBJECT: Operation ABC Mobilization

The Post Falls Police Department recently took part in the “Click It, Don’t Risk It” September seatbelt enforcement efforts from September 13 – 26, 2004 . We partnered up with other surrounding law enforcement agencies along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Our most recent enforcement survey shows a usage rate of approx. 77%.

This number is down from our last saturation patrol earlier this year, as that number was up around 90-92%. We will work diligently on getting these numbers back up where they should be. Seatbelts save lives, it is a proven fact. I would challenge each of you to buckle yourself and your passengers before the vehicle moves, help us reduce the amount of injuries and fatalities on Idaho ’s roadways.
