On
December 17th Post Falls Police Officers responded to a malicious injury
call in the Pinevilla area on the east side of
Post
Falls
. The reporting party advised that a vehicle had driven through their
yard, damaging Christmas decorations. The owner of the property followed
the vehicle and located it abandoned off the roadway at Westwood and
Ponderosa Blvd.
The vehicle was later discovered to be stolen.
Officers
were able to follow footprints in the fresh snow to a mobile home in the
Savory Mobile Home Park off of Maplewood Ave. Officers contacted a 14 year
old male who was interviewed and admitted to being involved in the
vandalism. The male juvenile agreed to show Detectives other locations
where they had attempted to steal another vehicle and had also removed an
ATV and Motorcycle from a residence. During the interview the juvenile
also informed
Detective
s of other juveniles involved.
Officer
Farina contacted and interviewed a second male juvenile who then admitted
to a rash of crimes in the area east of
Ross Point Rd.
The crimes included Arson, Vehicle Burglary, Malicious Injury to Property
and Vehicle Theft. It was also mentioned to Officer Farina that there are
two other male juveniles that were involved in the crime spree.
Detective
s will continue their investigation and hope that several active cases
will be solved.
