SUBJECT: Burglary Suspect Apprehended

Date: September 17, 2004

On September 16, 2004 at approximately 9:00 pm Officer Kristi Mattson observed a suspicious vehicle and two subjects near an open storage unit in the 700 block of West Mullan Ave.   As Officer Mattson attempted to investigate further the subjects quickly entered their vehicle and attempted to flee the storage unit striking the gate on the way out.  Officer Mattson stopped the vehicle and observed several items of property inside the vehicle.  Further investigation by officers on scene revealed that items in the vehicle had been reported stolen from the storage unit earlier in the day.

Post Falls officers arrested 43-year-old Dennis Roszell Wade Sr and 41-year-old Verna Ruth Rumsey both of Post Falls .  Wade and Rumsey were taken to Kootenai County Jail and booked on Felony Burglary charges after confessing to the burglary of the storage unit.
