Burglary Suspect Arrested

June 21, 2007
On
June 21st 2007, the Post Falls Police Department responded to the 500
block of
West Mullan Avenue
for a report of a residential burglary in progress. The reporting
party said that he arrived home to his apartment to discover that a
backpack belonging to him was sitting on the living room floor full of his
DVDs. The victim advised that he walked over to his balcony in time
to witness a male running between the apartment complexes. The
victim recognized the male suspect as his 18-year-old neighbor Blake
Englebrecht. Investigating Officers spoke with several witnesses
that reported seeing the suspect leap from the victim’s 3rd story
balcony and flee the area.
Officers
located Mr. Englebrecht riding his bicycle in the area of
Mullan Avenue
and
Thornton Street
. Officers detained Mr. Englebrecht until witnesses could make
positive identification that Mr. Englebrecht was the one they saw leaping
from the balcony and fleeing the area.
Mr.
Englebrecht was arrested for violation of I.C. 18-1401 (Felony Burglary)
and transported to the Kootenai County Jail.
