Animal Safety Day

The
Post Falls Police Department presents “Support Animal Safety Day” on
Saturday July 14th from 10:00am to Noon. The Animal Shelter located on 805
Auto Row, next to Post Falls Mazda will host this event.
The
function of Animal Safety Section is the enforcement of City
Ordinance relating to animals, care and feeding of lost or
abandon animals along with the capture of those animals. The section is
also responsible for the adoption of strays and those animals relinquished
to the section by the owners.
The
Safety Day will feature local children’s book author and Coeur d’Alene
Police Sgt. Christie Wood who will be available for an author signing of
her book “The Adventures of Woodville, Oscar meets the Duchess” All
profits from the sale of her books will benefit the shelter. Joining
Christie will be “Oscar” her pug dog who is the main character in the
book. Oscar will be there to show support for his animal friends and
encourage people to adopt a dog that day.
There
will also be a “Best Costume” contest for dogs with prizes for 1st and
2nd place that starts at 11:00am.
Other
on site activities include with a donation of food or cash: Free
wellness check from local
veterinarian
River
City
Animal
Hospital
(eye check, ear check etc.) and free nail trimming from Pretty Pooch
Grooming. This will be a fun family event. Citizens are encouraged to
attend and show support for The Post Falls Animal Safety.
